4 Twitter Marketing Tips
Twitter is a funny sounding name. But make no mistake; it’s a great marketing tool.
And while a Twitter message — a.k.a. tweet — may only allow for 140 characters, if you choose the right words you can reap big rewards.
Here are four ways to use Twitter for fun and profit:
- Time-sensitive coupons: Sample message: “20% off next purchase if you order in the next 2 hours!” Include a link to a landing page on your website that only applies to this special deal to get an accurate measure of your response. Or, if customers wind up going to a store, have a special discount code.
- Contests: Ask a question and offer prizes to the first few people who answer correctly.
- New product announcements: Tweet your horn about a new product or service and link to a page on your website with more information.
- Promotions: Send a tweet about a product with its price. Include superlatives like “Great deal – they won’t last long!”
FYI, people love to share on Twitter. If you sponsor a fun contest or offer a super discount, expect to receive retweets — the equivalent of forwarding an email.
Give it a whirl and you’ll soon see how to generate word of mouth marketing, one tweet at a time.
